COVID-19 AND DELIVERY
So far, we are managing to get orders sent out as normal however, we do ask for a bit of patience as it can take a little longer for parcels to arrive. In most areas postal service is more or less normal and in other areas delays happen more often. We work with our local post office to keep them busy but they are currently only open three days a week.Thank you for your understanding.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO DESPATCH MY ORDER?
We understand that when our customers order online, they don't want to wait weeks for their goods - so we aim to dispatch your order within 3 working days of receiving it - and in most cases right away.
We keep a good level of stock of all of our different types of bath & skin care products as well as our choice of gift items but from time to time we may hit an extra busy time and as a result, the product you would like to buy might be out of stock - but only for a day or two - until we have made some more.
We hope you can live with the occasional delay, knowing that your Sedbergh Soap products are freshly made by hand. If your order is urgent or for a special occasion/date, please use the 'notes section' during ordering or drop us a line and we will do our best to accommodate.
ROYAL MAIL SERVICE AND COURIER SERVICE
Please note that the recent changes introduced by Royal Mail means that some orders, which used to be sent First Class or Standard Parcel, will now be sent Royal Mail 'Small Parcel' and parcels up to 2Kg will usually go First Class. if your order weighs more than 2Kg, it will be packed in two parcels and sent 2nd class at the same time. Orders over £100 ex delivery, are generally (but not always) sent via courier (APC) to Mainland addresses although alternaitves will be chosen for Highland addresses as the location dictates the service available. Orders placed with a DISCOUNT CODE or a FREEPOST code will be sent Royal Mail 2nd Class with the exceptopon of orders with a value over £100, which may still be sent via courier, depending on the weight.
Your parcel may need signing for so if you are not in when the parcel arrives, Royal Mail or the relevant courier will leave a note regarding alternative delivery or collection from a post office or depot, depending. You are always welcome to have your order delivered to a business address or add notes such as 'if out please leave with neighbour in no. 4'. Any instructions are at your risk.
When parcels are dispatched via a courier, APC, you will autmatically receive a notification email with a tracking number and a link to a tracking website. Please keep this notiofication and keep an eye on your delivery, especially if you think you might have missed it.
Like our soap, your order is packaged carefully by hand and we charge a fixed fee of £4.95 for postage and packaging to UK Mainland addresses. If you are ordering from outside the UK please get in touch for delivery charges to where you are.
In most cases delivery of small packets or parcels to Highlands and Islands are not subject to additional cost however, some services and couriers apply a surchanrge to some areas of the UK so it is best to get in touch before you order, if you are ordering a lot from a remote island address or abroad.
For special and high value orders we may waive the surcharge and/or the delivery cost altogether.
